Growing up in North Carolina, food was a significant part of my life. As a young football player, I needed to maintain a heavy weight for my position as an offensive lineman. I succeeded in gaining weight, but my body suffered under the pressure, especially after my second knee surgery.

When I decided to lose weight after my football career, I started by making small dietary changes. I stopped eating beef and tried to eat more vegetables. Tracking my calories helped me understand what I was putting into my body and the areas I needed to improve. I lost weight and felt great, but something was still missing.

It wasn’t until I moved to Los Angeles and started working as a personal trainer that I realized the power of a plant-based diet. The first time I tried going vegan, I failed because I felt so hungry after every meal. But when I gave it a second chance with an open mind, I discovered simple and delicious meals that satisfied my hunger and provided all the nutrients I needed.

Within a month of adopting a vegan diet, I lost 10 lbs of body fat while retaining my muscle mass. My energy levels soared, and I felt healthier than ever. Now, after following a 100% plant-based diet for over three years, I’ve lost more weight and maintain a healthy 225 lbs.
